Partial wild and malolactic fermentation in top quality French oak with regular battonage (lees stirring) has added complex spicy/nutty oak characters to the nectarine and stone fruit flavours. The palate has nice weight and balance, with lovely mouthfeel and creamy texture.
An elegant Chardonnay style that partners well with full flavoured foods such as coq au vin, roast chicken, veal, pasta carbonara. Drink now to 2018.
"This has the extra degree of ripeness and depth of flavour that the Old Block lacks, and the temptation to blend the two parcels must have been difficult to resist. Here nectarine and white peach, together with creamy cashew notes, do the talking; the acidity on the finish is not only integrated, but perfectly balanced."
