Depending on the season, our estate-grown Pinot Gris vines either make a lighter styled wine (Pinot Grigio), or a riper, heavier style (Pinot Gris), or both. Because of the cooler season in 2012, most of our Pinot Gris was made into the Grigio style.
To add both aromatic and textural complexity to the core of red and yellow apple flavours, a small percentage was wild fermented in old French Oak.
On the nose there is red and yellow apple, with fresh summer herbs.
The palate is juicy and light, quite lively, and with soft, seamless fruit acids running the full length of the palate.
The finish is smooth, long, and satisfying, and dangerously easy to drink, making the for the perfect Summer wine. Great as a lunch wine, serve with fresh summer seafood and salads. Drink now to 2014.
