Our 2013 Woodside Savagnin was made entirely from fruit grown at our Bowral Vineyards in the Southern Highlands. 40% of the juice was fermented in 6 year old French oak barrels and blended back with the tank portion, and 4% underwent a wild fermentation in new oak.
The nose shows interesting nutty almond aromas with lemon custard, and a touch of chicken stock.
The palate is medium-bodied and textural, with lovely balance and delicious nectarine/citrus flavours. This is a very easy wine to drink, pairing well with richer seafood.
