The fruit for this wine was grown at an elevated vineyard in Orange (Vin de Vie Vineyard) at an altitude of 850m, giving the wine lovely cool-climate fruit characters in a medium-bodied frame.
The complex nose reveals aromas of spicy red fruit, pepper, plum, ripe cherry, and some dark coffee oak with earthy tones.
The medium bodied palate is quite tightly structured with the typical cool-climate elegance, cherry acidity and restraint we get from this vineyard.
This wine will gain even more harmony in 6-12 months as the tannins slowly soften.
Great with beef and lamb.
Drink now to 2020.
