The fruit in our latest Reserve Shiraz Viognier is grown at Angullong vineyard in Orange NSW, at 660m altitude. This vintage shows ripe and powerful Shiraz character as a result of excellent growing conditions throughout the 2015 season.
This wine is a blend of 97% Shiraz with 3% Viognier.
Viognier is included to provide heightened aromatic complexity, and to contribute texture to the palate.
The nose shows ripe, dark fruit flavours and ripe spices, with very subtle coffee and walnut oak.
The full-bodied palate has beautifully ripe and elegant flavours with a lovely lacing of ripe, silky tannin. This vintage shows more mid-palate weight as a result of the extended ripening period.
Perfect with red meat.
For best enjoyment, remove cork and let breathe for an hour before serving.
This wine will age very well over the next few years. A harmless deposit could form due to minimal filtration.
Drink now to 2022.
