The 2016 Reserve Chardonnay was grown entirely at our Bowral vineyards at 750 metres above sea level. The growing season was warmer than average producing ripe fruit flavours and excellent natural acid retention.
This wine was made from a portion of the Old Block that was cropped lower than usual (1.5 tonne/Ha) to enhance concentration.
Wild fermentation of high solids juice (and settled juice) in top quality French oak barrels has added nutty, biscuit-like aromas to the apple/citrus fruit core.
The finely honed and elegant palate has fantastic citrussy nectarine flavours together with supporting textural interest.
An elegant, complex and modern cool-climate Chardonnay style that partners well with coq au vin, roast chicken and veal. Drink now to 2022.
