Our 2017 Reserve Bridge Creek Rosé is crafted from two unique Italian red varietals grown at our Bridge Creek vineyard in Orange, NSW at an altitude of 850m.
These varietals are Corvina and Rondinella, and are traditionally grown in the Veneto region in north eastern Italy, where they are predominantly used to produce the classic Amarone and Valpollicella wine styles.
We are one of only two growers in Australia of these classic and very unique varietals, in fact we believe this wine is the only Rosé in Australia using both of these varietals.
A small volume is drained off the red skins 4 hours after crushing to yield a lightly coloured red juice, which is subsequently fermented like a white wine.
There are lovely fresh grapey aromas, watermelon and savoury herbal notes. The palate is dry, yet generously flavoured and well balanced, with excellent fleshy texture throughout.
Overall, this is a more serious style of Rosé, perfect with hors d’oeuvres, and will complement fuller-flavoured foods.
Serve chilled. Drink now to 2019.
