This Rosé is crafted from two unique Italian red varietals grown at our Bridge Creek vineyard in Orange, NSW at an altitude of 850m.
These varietals are Rondinella and Corvina, which are traditionally grown in the Veneto region in northeastern Italy, where they are predominantly used to produce the classic Amarone and Valpolicella wine styles.
We are one of only two growers in Australia of these classic and very unique varietals The red must is drained after crushing to yield a lightly coloured red juice, which is subsequently fermented like a white wine. A portion (10%) was wild fermented in old barrels to add complexity. The complex nose features red cherry jube, watermelon, brioche, almond tart, with a sprinkling of fresh herbs.
The fine and well-balanced palate has great finesse and delicacy, with red cherry, red plum, blood orange, and nectarine flavours featuring throughout. Overall, this Rosé is worth contemplating. It is very easy drinking, perfect with hors d’oeuvres, and will complement fuller-flavoured foods.
Serve just below room temperature. Drink now to 2025.
