Our Non Vintage Miller’s Pinot was made entirely from selected Pinot Meunier parcels grown within our Bowral vineyards in the Southern Highlands of NSW (750m).
Meunier – n. Miller, one who fabricates flour.
The Pinot Meunier vines are characterised by whitish leaves which appear to be dusted with flour. This is our first release of this wine and consists largely of 2018 vintage (80%) with the balance coming from the 2017 vintage (20%). Being one of the first varieties to harvest from our Bowral vineyard, Pinot Meunier is typically flavour-ripe with moderate acidity, and usually quite a soft and gentle style requiring less time on lees to harmonise than the other classic sparkling varieties of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Subsequently, approximately 24 months maturation on lees is given after tiraging for bottle fermentation.
The nose shows yellow apple fruit aromas with biscuit/pastry complexities. The palate is soft, generous, and easy to drink, with cleansing acidity. There are refreshing green apple and pithy citrus flavours on the finish.
Best enjoyed with food.
