The 2018 Reserve Chardonnay was grown entirely at our Bowral vineyards at 750 metres above sea level. The growing season was warmer than average producing ripe fruit flavours and excellent natural acid retention.
This wine was made entirely from the 548 Chardonnay clone in our Winery Block and was cropped lower than usual (1.5 tonne/Ha) to enhance concentration.
Whole bunch pressing followed by wild fermentation of high solids juice in top quality French oak barrels has added spicy, nutty, biscuit-like aromas to the yellow apple/grapefruit/nectarine fruit core.
The finely honed and elegant palate has fantastic citrussy flavours together with supporting textural interest.
An elegant, pure and complex cool-climate Chardonnay style that partners well with coq au vin, roast chicken and veal. Drink now to 2026.
