Centennial Vineyards 2018 Reserve Pinot Gris was made from the 457 clone of Pinot Gris grown at our Bowral Vineyards in the Southern Highlands, NSW. The 457 Pinot Gris clone tends to produce more ripe, spicy flavours and textures here at Bowral. The juice was entirely fermented in 7-10-year-old French oak barrels with a portion left to ferment using wild yeast (25%).
Definite ripe, sweet fruit aromas of ripe pear, spiced red apple, stonefruit, plus hints of more exotic tropical fruits. There are beautiful palate flavours of ripe golden delicious apple, juicy pear, and texture gained from maturation on lees in old barrels.
A very easy wine to drink, pairing well with pork, chicken and richer seafood. Drink now to 2026.
