2021 Late Autumn Semillon
Late in 2021 growing season, Semillon vines were encouraged to develop noble rot on the bunches resulting in concentrated sugar and flavours. This style was bottled after 9 months maturation in French oak barrels, whereby vanilla and caramel falvours have enhanced the lovely peach, nectarine marmalade flavours. The luscious and fully flavoured palate has wonderful intensity and excellent natural acidity. This wine was handcrafted from grapes grown in the Riverina, NSW.
2022 Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon
The fruit for this wine was grown in the Hilltops region, near Young (NSW), at an altitude of 600m, giving the wine wonderful cool-climate elegance and fruit definition. The fruit was picked very late in the cool 2022 growing season. Despite the cool conditions, it has produced a concentrated red wine with wonderful ripe flavours and textures.
The complex nose reveals aromas of spicy blackcurrant, cigar box, tobacco, ripe bay leaf, dried brown herbs, and subtle mocha oak. The palate has excellent flavour and concentration, with the typical cool-climate acid and medium-bodied structure we get from this vineyard.
This elegant style has lovely palate weight and balance with lingering currant and raspberry flavours all the way through the long and satisfying finish. The Cabernet tannins are there, but perfectly ripe and smooth. Delicious cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon! Great with beef and lamb.
This wine will age beautifully over the next decade, or more.
